New Years Resolution - Start a blog...

My first attempt at a blog. Can't imagine why anyone would read this anyhow, but I think it'll be good for me to do. I seem to gain clarity on things by "talking them out", and I add a little external pressure to myself and my training by "putting it out there". So this little experiment is for me, but others are welcome to read along - if they are brave enough to get into my head a little bit!

My "off season" of unstructured training is coming to an end. The hard work begins... but first, a review of what the 2008 racing season was for me:
- Looks like I will receive "Honorable Mention" status from USAT this year (All American = top 5%, HM = next 5%)
- Won the HFP Olympic Distance racing series this year for my age group.
- Set a new PR at Olympic distance 2:13
- Set a new PR at the Cleveland Marathon - 3:20
- Won age group numerous times, along with top 3 finishes in nearly every race.
- Ran Hood to Coast (197 mile running race) on my companies team that took 33rd out of 1300 teams. We medaled in our division! Averaged 6:37/mi for 197 miles!
- Got into IRONMAN USA (Lake Placid) for 2009 - with the goal of breaking 11 hours (10:59:59 will be great with me!)

So that's the quick summary for now... More tomorrow!
